El Chalten Tour: What to expect
The tour starts with pick up from your Hotel at El Calafate at 7.30 AM. You will head to El Chalten via the legendary Route 40. An iconic road that crosses Argentina from north to south bordering the Andes.
During the 213 km road trip from El Calafate to El Chalten you will have to chance to enjoy scenic views of Viedma Glacier, Monte Fitz Roy, Torres, and Poincenot mountains. Your personal driver will stop in strategic viewports for pictures.
Upon arrival at El Chalten village, a meeting point will be appointed by your driver to meet him again at the end of the day to return to El Calafate (Around 5.00 PM).
Once you leave the vehicle you will be able to walk around and discover this fantastic tiny town inside the Andes by yourself. You will find multiple trekking options with different levels of difficulty. From short walks with stunning views to challenging trekking trails. The village also offers a variety of local/authentic restaurants, bars, and shops.
We recommend comfortable, warm, and waterproof clothing. Gloves and footwear according to your trekking or walking plans. Backpack and extra drink.
